I remember using Netscape and seeing the little spinning globe gif with the N on it, and watching my mom do her emails. I remember hearing the dialup modem. Probably my earliest substantial experience would be using AOL instant messenger to chat with my friends - we all had our screennames and would just type to each other for HOURS. It was honestly so exciting.
